Blackridge Editions was founded on a simple belief: stories should be built to last.
We're an independent press that publishes books as objects—tactile, permanent, meant to be held and marked and passed down. Every binding, every page, every embossed symbol is crafted with intention.
The name "Blackridge" comes from the idea of a mountain—something enduring, something forged over time. The ridge is permanent. The stories are the marks we leave on it.
Forged in Ash. Bound in Blood.
Dan Penton is the author of The Grande West Trilogy and founder of Blackridge Editions. A storyteller, designer, and believer in the permanence of the printed word, Dan built Blackridge to create books that feel like artifacts—stories forged to endure.
Based in Alberta, Canada, Dan writes about legacy, consequence, and the stories we inherit.
